Dalarna University

Since its establishment in 1977, Hogskolan Dalarna (Dalarna University) has experienced rapid growth and today is the place of study for about 16.000 students; over 50% of all students are registered in web-based distance learning courses. HDa has close to 800 employees.

The Department of Regional studies is based within the School of Technology and Business Studies, and covers subjects such as cultural geography, economics, and tourism science.

Ulf Hansson

Ulf holds a PhD from Ulster University (Northern Ireland) and is a lecturer in political science at Högskolan Dalarna. His research background is a diverse one, but he takes a particular interest in education and schooling in post-conflict and divided societies

Anna Klerby

Anna is a PhD student at Dalarna University and Örebro University and holds a Masters degree in Economics. The PhD work focuses on the impact of the arts and culture both within and outside of the economic market structures. As economist the research tool-box is based on quantitative methods, but the main research interests focus on the qualitative and intangible aspects in economic decision making where power, culture, identity, belonging and gender are significant parametres. For several years Anna has worked as consultant to local and regional governments in Sweden on how to execute gender analyses of public resource allocation.
